Behind the lyrics
In this song, I try to describe a feeling that I had for a long period of time. I felt like everything around me was black, like I was helpless and could not get out of my situation. It’s like I was stuck.
The song continues to say things that I would have needed to hear during that time, and I think there are others who need to hear these words today. John’s voice represents God and his encouragement in that situation.
